LIBERTY, Mo. & QUINCY, Ill. — Missouri S&T Women's Soccer will hit the road for its fourth and fifth matches of the season this week, traveling to William Jewell tomorrow and Quincy on Saturday as the Miners continue Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

About the Miners

S&T opened GLVC competition with a win last week, defeating Upper Iowa 2-1 to begin conference play 1-0. The Miners have scored five goals through their first three matches, with Aubrey Case (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) and Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) each accounting for two.

Case has totaled six points through the first three contests, adding two assists to her pair of goals. She is tied for the GLVC lead in points per match. Lily Simpson (Lexington, KY/Lafayette) has S&T's other goal of the season, tapping in the game-winner off a corner kick from Ella Kramer (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) in the Miners' most recent contest.
 

About the Cardinals

William Jewell is still searching for its first win of the season, entering the week with an 0-4 record. The Cardinals dropped their first GLVC match last week, falling 2-0 to Lewis at home.

After scoring the opening goal of their season opener against Fort Hays State, the Cardinals have been held scoreless in their last four contests while allowing nine unanswered goals. Seniors Jessica Baker and Kennedy Holloway have Jewell's only two goals of the season, while junior forward Maddy Follmer leads the team with four shots.
 

About the Hawks

Quincy is coming off a statement 2-1 victory over No. 22 McKendree last week, overcoming a one-goal deficit by scoring twice in the opening minutes of the second half to pull off the upset. The victory was the Hawks' first of the season after going 0-1-2 during nonconference play.

Abbie Martin and Rebecca Rheinheimer both have two goals this season, while Rheinheimer leads the team and ranks second in the GLVC with 17 shots through the first four matches.
 

What's Next

The Miners return home next week to host Rockhurst on Wednesday, Sept. 16, before welcoming Illinois Springfield for Senior Day on Saturday, Sept. 19.
