ROLLA, Mo.  --  Missouri S&T Women's will host their first home matches of the season this weekend, hosting Truman State and Upper Iowa. This weekend's matches will be the first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) contest of the season.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T is 7-4 this year, their best through eleven matches since 2023. They are coming off a 1-2 performance at the Harding Invitational. Despite the pair of losses in Arkansas, the Miners had positives to take away from the experience, with Adelyn Weiler (Ste. Genevieve, MO/Valle Catholic) and Madison Smith (Boonville, MO/Boonville) both putting up S&T-record performances and Selin Ozdemir (Ankara, Turkey/Bilim) earning All-Tournament Team

The Miners rank fourth in the GLVC for points per set, averaging 16.29. Service aces and blocks are two key contributors to that stat, with the teams' 88.0 blocks this year ranking 23^rd in Division II and tied for third in the conference.

Smith leads the GLVC in blocks per set, ranking 6^th in Division II with 50 blocks for an average of 1.28 per set. Weiler also sits near the top of Division II but for digs, ranking 15^th with a total of 210. Elly Decker's (Manhattan, IL/Lincoln-Way West) 20 service aces are the third-most in the GLVC, while Kaitlyn Brady's (Springdale, AR/Rogers) 234 assists are fifth-most. Danielle Wilke (Palmer Lake, CO/Palmer Ridge) is S&T's leading scorer, ranking 10^th in the conference for both points per match (3.41) and kills per match (3.0).
 
About Truman State
The Bulldogs are sitting just below .500 after their first ten matches of the season, going 4-6. After losing six of their first seven, Truman State has won their last three in a row, with victories over Missouri Southern, Newman, and Maryville.

Truman State's largest strength has been digs this season, ranking third in the GLVC for digs per set with 16.54. Addy Janssen is the team's digs leader, ranking fifth in the conference with 4.76 per set. Laci Neece and Tori Creason are the Bulldog's top two offensive players, with Neece ranking 7^th in the conference for kills per set (3.08) and Creason ranking 3^rd for assists per set (9.46).
 
About Upper Iowa
After starting the season 3-1, the Peacocks have fallen to 3-5 this season after going winless at the Sioux Falls Classic last week. Prior to Sioux Falls, Upper Iowa had picked up victories over Lane, Auburn Montgomery, and Union at the Union University Volleyball Classic.

Kailey Porter and Marissa Becker headline the Peacocks' offensive attack. Porter is third in the GLVC for hitting percentage with a .410 mark, while Becker's 3.04 kills per set ranks ninth in the conference. Morgan Block is also a standout performer for Upper Iowa, ranking 12^th in Division II for digs per set with an average of 5.48.
 
What's Next
The Miners host Maryville next Saturday at 3 p.m. in Gibson Arena.
