S&T Men's Soccer Win Streak Ends With 1-0 Loss at Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. — Missouri S&T saw its four-game winning streak come to an end Saturday, as the Miners dropped a 1-0 decision to Quincy at Jack Mackenzie Field.

The loss moves S&T to 4-1-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play, while Quincy improves to 3-1-2 overall and 2-0-1.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes. Quincy held an 8-2 advantage in shots during the first half, but S&T goalkeeper Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano) kept the Hawks off the scoreboard with a pair of saves.

Quincy broke the deadlock in the 60th minute when Leo Cann scored at the 59:23 mark. Jose Perez and Rylan Fischer were credited with assists on the game-winning goal.

The Miners responded by increasing the pressure offensively in the second half, finishing the period with seven shots compared to two in the opening half. S&T also earned four corner kicks after halftime and continued to challenge the Quincy defense throughout the final 45 minutes.

Jake Salazar-Blair (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) recorded two shots for S&T, including a shot on target in the 85th minute that was saved by the Quincy defense. Caleb Lepant (Ozark, MO/Ozark) also recorded two shots, while Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano) finished the match with three saves.
