INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Missouri S&T junior libero Adelyn Weiler (Ste. Genevieve, MO/Valle Catholic) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Weiler helped lead the Miners to a perfect 4-0 start to the 2026 season during the MSSU Tournament in Joplin, Missouri, over the weekend.
Over the four matches, Weiler recorded 89 digs in 16 sets, averaging 5.56 digs per set. She also contributed one ace during the Northwestern match, helping the Miners set a program record for aces in a three-set match (18).
Weiler's 39 digs against Missouri Southern were the most in a match by a Miner since Corrine Stulce set a program record of 45 in 2018.
Weiler's defensive efforts helped Missouri S&T remain unbeaten through the opening weekend of the season. The Miners picked up two sweeps during the tournament and two five-set match wins.
This marks Weiler's first career GLVC weekly honor and the first weekly award for the Miners this season.
Missouri S&T will return to action September 4th, when they travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas for the Reddie-Tiger Invitational. They will start the weekend with a match against Ouachita Baptist at 9 a.m.
