ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T softball is set to open postseason play at the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament, taking place May 6-9 at the EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Illinois.
About the Miners
The No. 2 seeded Miners (35-15, 22-6 GLVC) will face No. 7 seed Maryville on Wednesday, May 6 at 4 p.m. in Game 4 of the tournament. The winner will advance to face the winner of Game 2 between No. 3 McKendree and No. 6 Illinois Springfield, while the loser will move into the elimination bracket to face the loser of that match up.
Missouri S&T enters the tournament following a historic regular season, setting a new program record with 22 conference wins, surpassing the previous mark of 17. The Miners have been one of the most complete teams in the GLVC, hitting .297 as a team with 294 runs and 56 home runs while posting a 3.08 team ERA in the circle.
Taylor Nelson (Hailey, ID/Phillips Exeter Academy) leads the offense with a .428 batting average, 18 home runs, and 54 RBI, along with a .910 slugging percentage and .546 on-base percentage. Claire Lopez (Olathe, KS/Olathe Northwest) (.349) and Kaylee LaChappell (.344) continue to provide consistency at the top and middle of the lineup, while
Tori Thompson (Chandler, AZ/Basha) adds power with 10 home runs and 37 RBI.
In the circle, AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) anchors the staff with a 2.24 ERA and a 19-8 record across 159.2 innings, while Mia Miller (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) adds depth with 12 wins and 93 strikeouts, giving the Miners a strong one-two punch heading into postseason play.
About the Saints
Maryville enters the tournament with a 25-23 overall record and a 15-13 mark in GLVC play. The Saints are hitting .280 as a team with 240 runs and 50 home runs, while holding a 3.38 team ERA in the circle.
Jenna Kosnoff leads Maryville offensively with a .387 batting average and 12 home runs, while Laila Ruiz (.358) and Addison Koth (.358, 16 HR) provide additional power in the lineup. In the circle, Nora Johnson (3.01 ERA) and Cora Boyle (3.09 ERA) lead a balanced pitching staff as the Saints look to make a postseason run.
