Softball Travels to Take on Top GLVC Foes UIndy and Lewis

ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T softball returns to GLVC play this weekend with a pair of road doubleheaders. The Miners will travel to UIndy on Saturday, April 11, before heading to Lewis on Sunday, April 12, with first pitch set for 12 p.m. both days. 
 
About the Miners 
Missouri S&T enters the weekend with a 21-13 overall record and 8-4 mark in GLVC play, continuing to build momentum in conference action. 
 
The Miners have been fueled by a powerful and balanced offense, hitting .272 as a team with 31 home runs and 150 RBI on the season. Leading the way is Taylor Nelson (Hailey, ID/Phillips Exeter Academy), who is batting .392 with 12 home runs and 27 RBI, while posting a .856 slugging percentage and .516 on-base percentageClaire Lopez (Olathe, KS/Olathe Northwest) continues to set the tone at the top of the lineup, hitting .340 with a team-high 30 runs scored and 17 stolen bases. The Miners' depth has been key, with contributions throughout the lineup from AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) (22 RBI) and Molly Fitzgerald (Crystal Lake, IL/Marian Central Catholic) (23 RBI), helping drive consistent run production. 
 
In the circle, Missouri S&T is led by AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) (9-7, 2.63 ERA, 52 strikeouts) and Mia Miller (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) (8-4, 3.83 ERA, 67 strikeouts), who have anchored the pitching staff. Tinley Beecham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs) has also been effective, holding a 2.25 ERA in limited appearances. 
 
About the Greyhounds  
Indianapolis enters the weekend as one of the top teams in the conference, holding a 37-3 overall record and 13-1 mark in GLVC play. Offensively, UIndy is hitting an impressive .338 as a team with 28 home runs and 279 RBIs, led by Brooklyn Willis (.384, 14 HR, 42 RBI) and Cara Cooper (.394 average). The Greyhounds have depth throughout the lineup with eight players hitting above .330, making them a consistent threat from top to bottom.  
 
In the circle, UIndy boasts a dominant 2.02 team ERA, with Caitlin Bunte (1.10 ERA, 18-1) and Cheyenne Eads (2.17 ERA, 18-2) leading one of the most effective pitching staffs in the league. 
 
About the Flyers
Lewis comes into the series with a 20-12 overall record and 9-1 conference mark, showcasing a balanced offensive attack hitting .340 as a team. The Flyers are led by Nicole Magdziasz (.439) and Erica Hoffman (.427), while Anna Frafjord provides power with a .733 slugging percentage and 38 RBIs. Lewis has shown the ability to produce extra-base hits with 60 doubles and 25 triples on the season.  
 
In the circle, the Flyers carry a 4.74 team ERA, with Jolee Strohmeyer (9-8, 4.86 ERA) and Avery Flynn (8-1) handling much of the workload.
