INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Missouri S&T's Taylor Nelson (Hailey, ID/Phillips Exeter Academy) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Softball Player of the Week after a historic performance at the plate that helped lead the Miners to a 4-0 week against Upper Iowa and Quincy.

Nelson was nearly unstoppable offensively, hitting an incredible .917 (11-for-12) across four games while scoring 14 runs and driving in 12. The Hailey, Ind. native added four home runs, two doubles, and four walks, reaching base safely in all four contests and fueling one of the most explosive offensive weeks of the season for Missouri S&T.

The week began with a perfect 3-for-3 outing in a 14-0 win over Upper Iowa, highlighted by a grand slam while scoring four runs and driving in four. Nelson followed with another flawless 3-for-3 performance in Game 2, adding four runs, three RBI, and two home runs. With those two long balls, Nelson surpassed the Missouri S&T single-season home run record, increasing her total from 14 to 16 on the year.

Nelson continued her dominant stretch against Quincy, homering in Game 1 while scoring three runs and drawing two walks. The weekend concluded with a perfect 4-for-4 performance in the series finale, adding three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

The combination of consistency, power, and ability to reach base were key factors in Missouri S&T's undefeated week, as the Miners totaled 59 runs across the four-game span. Nelson's recognition marks another standout individual honor for the Miners this season as she continues to be one of the top offensive threats in the GLVC.
