ROLLA, Mo. -- Due to weather, Missouri S&T softball's weekend series has been adjusted, and the Miners will now travel to Lincoln for a doubleheader on Friday, April 4, with first pitch set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Miners enter the weekend with a 19-13 overall record and 6-4 mark in GLVC play, coming off a competitive opening home stand where they split doubleheaders against No. 18 McKendree and Illinois Springfield.
About the Miners
Missouri S&T has been fueled by a balanced offensive attack, hitting .266 as a team with 27 home runs and 138 RBI this season.
Leading the lineup is Taylor Nelson (Hailey, ID/Phillips Exeter Academy), who is batting .374 with 10 home runs and 23 RBI, while posting a .780 slugging percentage and .504 on-base percentage. Claire Lopez (Olathe, KS/Olathe Northwest) has also been a key contributor, hitting .337 with a team-high 27 runs scored and 26 walks.
The Miners continue to get production throughout the lineup, with AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) (20 RBI) and Molly Fitzgerald (Crystal Lake, IL/Marian Central Catholic) (22 RBI)
anchoring the middle of the order.
In the circle, Mia Miller (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) (8-4, 3.87 ERA, 65 strikeouts) and AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) (8-7, 2.66 ERA, 49 strikeouts) lead the pitching staff, while Tinley Beecham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs) has been highly effective with a 0.84 ERA in limited appearances.
About the Blue Tigers (Lincoln)
Lincoln enters the weekend with an 11-12 overall record and 3-7 mark in GLVC play, bringing a lineup that is hitting .276 as a team with 81 RBI.
The Blue Tigers are led offensively by Ann-Marie Simpson, who is batting .413 with 31 hits and 21 runs scored, while Gracie Wright adds a .324 average with 16 RBI. Lincoln also features speed on the base paths, recording 36 stolen bases on the season.
In the circle, Lincoln holds a 5.17 team ERA, led by Abby Pulliam (5-2, 4.12 ERA) and Jaedin Blankenship (4-4, 5.15 ERA). As a staff, they have allowed opponents to hit .340, presenting opportunities for opposing offenses.
