ROLLA, Mo. -- Missouri S&T softball returns Missouri S&T softball field this weekend to continue Great Lakes Valley Conference play, hosting Upper Iowa on Saturday before welcoming Quincy on Sunday. First pitch for both doubleheaders is set for 12 p.m., with Sunday also marking Joe Miner Sticker Day as part of Pickaxe Platoon Rewards.
About the Miners
Missouri S&T enters the weekend with a 23-15 overall record and a 10-6 mark in GLVC play, coming off a road sweep against Lewis and looking to carry that momentum into a home slate. The Miners have been productive offensively this season, batting .271 as a team with 179 runs and 33 home runs, showcasing depth throughout the lineup.
Taylor Nelson (Hailey, ID/Phillips Exeter Academy) leads the way with a .369 average, 12 home runs, and 29 RBI, while Claire Lopez (Olathe, KS/Olathe Northwest) (.330) and Kaylee LaChappell (.333) continue to be consistent contributors. In the circle,
AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) (11-8, 2.55 ERA) and
Mia Miller (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) (9-5, 75 strikeouts) anchor a pitching staff that holds a 3.55 ERA, helping the Miners remain competitive on both sides of the ball.
About the Peacocks
Upper Iowa enters the weekend with a 5-33 overall record and is still searching for its first GLVC win at 0-14. The Peacocks are hitting .225 as a team with 103 runs scored this season and have struggled to limit opponents offensively, allowing a .330 batting average.
Dani Laughlin leads Upper Iowa at the plate with a .427 average and 44 hits, while Sara Reid provides production both offensively and in the circle, leading the pitching staff with a 3.19 ERA across 112 innings. As a team, Upper Iowa holds a 5.15 ERA and will look to find consistency on both sides of the ball as conference play continues.
About the Hawks
Quincy enters the weekend with a 7-33 overall record and a 3-13 mark in GLVC play. The Hawks are hitting .232 as a team with 152 runs scored and 20 home runs, but have struggled defensively and in the circle, allowing opponents to bat .339 on the season.
Makala Koozer leads Quincy at the plate with a .339 average and 43 hits, while Kaidence Dumas and Kenzie Moss provide power with a combined 13 home runs and 60 RBI. In the circle, Haley Martin has logged the most innings with over 100 pitched, while the team holds a 6.52 ERA and will look to find consistency against the Miners' lineup.
