Miners Continue GLVC Road Trip with Doubleheaders at UMSL and Maryville

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T softball continues Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play this weekend with a pair of road doubleheaders, traveling to UMSL on Saturday, March 21 before facing Maryville on Sunday, March 22First pitch for both doubleheaders is scheduled for 12 p.m. 
 
About the Miners 
Missouri S&T enters the matchup with a 14–10 overall record and a 1–1 mark in GLVC play after opening conference action with a split at Drury last weekend. The Miners have shown balance both offensively and in the circle, hitting .274 as a team with 21 home runs through their first 24 games of the season. 
 
Leading the way offensively has been Claire Lopez (Olathe, KS/Olathe Northwest), who is batting .405 with 30 hits and 22 runs scored, while Taylor Nelson (Hailey, ID/Phillips Exeter Academy) has provided power in the lineup with six home runs and 17 RBIs while hitting .362. Keira Jones (Richmond Hill, GA/Richmond Hill) has also added pop to the lineup with four home runs and 16 RBIs, helping anchor the Miners' offense. 
 
In the circle, AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) has been a key contributor for S&T with a 7–4 record and a 2.41 ERA across 61 innings pitched this season. The Miners' pitching staff has combined for a 3.81 ERA while holding opponents to a .270 batting average. 
 
About the Tritons 
UMSL enters Saturday's doubleheader with a 10–14 overall record and a 3–1 mark in GLVC play. The Tritons have been strong offensively this season, batting .296 as a team, led by May Pasqualini, who is hitting .408 with 29 hits and 13 RBIs. Kiley Sullivan has also been a key contributor, batting .390 with 30 hits, while Phoebe Miller leads the team in power with four home runs. 
 
About the Saints 
Missouri S&T concludes the weekend Sunday against Maryville, which holds a 13–11 overall record and a 3–1 mark in GLVC play. The Saints have been one of the more powerful offensive teams in the conference, batting .291 as a team with 34 home runs this season.  
 
Addison Koth leads Maryville at the plate with a .429 batting average and 11 home runs, while Jenna Kosnoff is hitting .395 with eight home runs and 27 RBIsLaila Ruiz has also been a key contributor with a .375 average and nine home runs, giving the Saints multiple power threats throughout the lineup. 
 
The weekend slate presents an important early test in conference play as Missouri S&T looks to build momentum in the GLVC standings against two teams currently sitting near the top of the conference.
