Marraccini’s Career Night Lifts Miners Past William Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball capped its final GLVC road trip in impressive fashion Saturday afternoon, defeating William Jewell 73–59 at the Mabee Center.  
 
The win gives the Miners momentum heading into the final home stretch of conference play. 
  
Missouri S&T established control early, taking an 18–16 lead after the first quarter before carrying a 36–32 advantage into halftime. 
 
The Miners created separation in the third quarter, outscoring the Cardinals 19–13 while tightening defensively and converting in transition. S&T 
maintained its composure in the fourth, using strong free-throw shooting and rebounding to close out the 14-point victory. 
  
Macy Marraccini (Broken Arrow, OK/Broken Arrow) delivered the best performance of her collegiate career, posting career highs in both points (15) and rebounds (12) to record her first career double-double 
  
She controlled the glass on both ends and provided steady scoring throughout the contest. Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) added 14 points, while Kiarra Kilgore (Galesburg, IL/Galesburg) chipped in 13 points and went a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) added 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench to give the Miners key depth production. 
  
As a team, Missouri S&T shot 42.6 percent from the field and an efficient 81.0 percent from the free-throw line.  
 
The Miners dominated the boards with a 46–37 rebounding advantage and scored 38 points in the paint, continuing their season-long emphasis on interior presence and physical play. 
  
With the victory, Missouri S&T improves to 9–13 overall and 5–11 in GLVC play. 
  
What's Next 
The Miners return home to Gibson Arena for a pair of GLVC contests, hosting Rockhurst on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m., before welcoming Southwest Baptist on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m.
