Miners Set for Doubleheader Showdown with Thomas More at UIS Dome

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T softball returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 12, as the Miners travel to Springfield, Ill., for a doubleheader against Thomas More at the UIS Dome. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m., with game two to follow at 2:30 p.m.

The Miners enter the matchup 6–3 overall, showcasing a balanced attack at the plate and steady production in the circle through the first nine games of the season. Missouri S&T is hitting .304 as a team with 75 hits and 13 home runs, while averaging nearly six runs per contest.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T's offense has been fueled by consistency throughout the lineup. Trista Grobe (DeSoto, MO/DeSoto) leads the team with a .429 batting average, collecting 12 hits including three doubles and two home runs. Claire Lopez (Olathe, KS/Olathe Northwest) is batting .419 with a team-high 13 hits and a .500 on-base percentage, providing a steady presence at the top of the order.

AJ Agers (DeSoto, MO/St. Pius X) has delivered both in the circle and at the plate, hitting .355 with three home runs and seven RBIs while also leading the pitching staff with a 3.19 ERA and a 3–2 record over 26.1 innings.Taylor Nelson (Hailey, ID/Phillips Exeter Academy) has added power with three home runs and eight runs scored, while Keira Jones (Richmond Hill, GA/Richmond Hill) has driven in six runs and is slugging .667.

In the circle, the Miners have struck out 38 batters across 60 innings pitched. Agers and Mia Miller (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) have combined for six wins, with Miller earning three victories and striking out 18 hitters in 24 innings of work.

Defensively, Missouri S&T owns a .977 fielding percentage and has turned nine double plays, committing just six errors through nine games.

About the Saints
Thomas More opens its 2026 campaign Thursday in Springfield after being picked 10th in the G-MAC Preseason Poll. The doubleheader against Missouri S&T will mark the Saints' first action of the season.

The 2026 season will be Thomas More's third competing in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). In 2025, the Saints finished 21–25 overall and 9–15 in conference play. The program is led by head coach Lindsey Eagan, who enters her 18th season at the helm.
