PITTSBURG, KS  --  The Miners will be on the campus of Pittsburg State University today for match #2 this season, as Perry's squad looks to improve to 2-0 on the season.

About the Gorillas
Pitt State's women's soccer program is in it's second season, finishing their inaugural season with an 8-8-2 record. They are 1-0 this season after defeating Missouri-St. Louis 2-0 on Thursday. The team will be without McKenna Robinson this season after the senior forward graduated. Robinson led the Gorillas in points, assists, and shots on goal. Pitt State will be returning their top two goal scorers from their 2024 campaign though, with Jadyn Newell and River Riley both back again this year.

About the Miners
S&T had a strong showing in their first match of the season on Thursday, putting four balls in the goal from four different goal scorers to defeat Christian Brothers 4-0. Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) leads the Miners in points after a goal and two assists in match #1. The Miners showed ability to score in various ways, grabbing two goals off of crosses and the other two off corner kicks.

What's Next
S&T continues non-conference play on Friday when they host Missouri Western before beginning conference play at Lincoln University on Sunday.
