Women's Volleyball Opens GLVC Play on the Road at Upper Iowa, Truman State

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's volleyball opens Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play on the road this weekend, visiting Upper Iowa on Friday at 6 p.m. before traveling to Truman State on Saturday at 6 p.m.

About the Miners
The Miners enter conference action looking to build on a challenging nonconference slate that featured strong regional opponents. At the UCM Challenge last weekend, S&T faced a tough lineup and dropped all three matches, but saw bright spots, including Danielle Wilke's (Palmer Lake, CO/Palmer Ridge) standout performance with a team-high 25 kills. Wilke hit above .400 in matches against Ouachita Baptist and Central Missouri, while Avery Patton (Lathrop, MO/Truman) added 10 block assists across the weekend.

S&T holds a 2-9 record entering GLVC play, with wins over Christian Brothers and Roosevelt. The Miners rank third in the conference in blocks at 2.04 per set, led by Kate Zipprich's (Hardin, IL/Calhoun) 1.16 blocks per set. Elise Mehaffy (Marion, IA/Marion) also sits ninth in the GLVC in assists, averaging six per set to guide the offense.

About the Peacocks
Upper Iowa will be S&T's first conference test of 2025. The Peacocks enter the weekend with an 0-10 record and are led offensively by Martha Pace with 3.06 kills per set and Grace Fruzen with 5.82 assists per set. Defensively, Morgan Block paces the team with 4.97 digs per set. In 2024, Missouri S&T swept the Peacocks in three sets.

About the Bulldogs
Truman State heads into conference play with a 3-9 record. Michaela Goad leads the Bulldogs offensively with 2.36 kills per set, while Addy Janssen averages 4.38 digs per set and Makayla Way contributes 0.87 blocks per set on the defensive side. Last season, Truman State defeated the Miners in three sets.
