Cross Country Set for First Appearance at Gans Creek Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri S&T men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the Gans Creek Classic this Friday, September 26, at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The men's race is scheduled for 11:15 a.m., followed by the women's race at 12 p.m.

The Miners will be making their first appearance at the Gans Creek Classic.

On the men's side, Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves) and Maddox Riley (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) have led the Miners through the opening race, pacing a group that finished runner-up at the Bearcat Invitational. Ethan Ramirez (Mahomet, IL/Seymour) and Tate Uding (Festus, MO/Festus) rounded out the top 10, leading to a second-place finish at the Larry Young Invite. S&T was ranked 10th in last week's Midwest Region by the USTFCCCA..

The women's team will look to continue its progress behind Genevieve Wacker (St. Charles, MO/St. Charles West) and Anna Beutelmann (Clayton, MO/Clayton), who have paced the Miners at each of the first two meets. A large class of newcomers has already contributed to early-season depth.
