INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The women's cross country team received 119 votes in the year's preseason poll, putting them at 7th in the conference. The team also welcomed a new coach last month in Cameron Knudsen.
The team took 7th in the conference championship last year, with
Grace Giesler (Owasso, OK/Owasso) leading the returners from that event with a time of 23:57.24 in the 6k. The team average was 24:07.94.
Giesler is one of four NCAA Regional qualifiers returning to the team this season, the others being
Victoria Regitz (Rockville, MD/Rockville),
Grace Johnson (Rogersville, MO/Logan-Rogersville), and
Allison Rush (St. Charles, MO/Francis Howell Central). Regitz had the best individual finish of this season's returners, taking 8th at the Larry Young Invitational with a time of 19:33.53.
We are just two weeks away from the first meet of the season, which will take place at the Bearcat Invitational on September 6th at 5:30pm in Bolivar, MO. Links to the team's schedule and social medias can be found above in this article's links.
