ROLLA, MO -- Missouri S&T Football hosted Truman State last night, falling to the Bulldogs 49-20. The Miners received strong performances in the run game despite the loss, with

The Miners got on the board first, scoring on their second drive of the game after marching 74 yards to set up a 23-yard field goal. After holding the Bulldogs to just 8 yards in their first two drives, the Miners defense gave up the first touchdown of the contest on a 43-yard catch and run by Truman State's Nathan Ryan. Reid Weber (St. Charles, MO/Francis Howell).
Truman State would score on their next two drives though, moving ahead 21-10 and giving the Miners the ball back with 1:05 left in the first half. S&T moved the ball well in the final minute, driving into Truman State territory before the Bulldogs jumped a short route to nab a pick six, sending the game into halftime with the visitors up 28-10.
Truman State received the second half kickoff and quickly turned the opportunity into six more points, picking up 54 yards on a big run from Dylan Hair to set up a 13-yard rushing TD and extend their lead to 35-10. Three plays into S&T's next drive, Farrell through another pick six when the Bulldogs jumped another short route, pushing the deficit to 42-10.
The Miners drove 72 yards later in the 3rd quarter and scored a touchdown on a pass from Farrell to
Justis Braden (Liberty, MO/Liberty North), making it 42-17, but Truman State would shut down any potential of a comeback with another touchdown in the opening minute of the 4th to extend their lead to 49-17. The Miners added a 43-yard field goal later in the 4th, but the Bulldogs continued to run out the clock on their drives to end the game a 49-20.
