Rolla, Mo. - Missouri S&T women's soccer is set to host Missouri Western at Allgood-Bailey Stadium this Friday, September 12, at 5 p.m., before traveling to Jefferson City, Mo., to take on Lincoln for their conference opener on Sunday, September 14, at 12 p.m.

About the Miners
The Miners look to build on their win streak going into this week after defeating Christian Brothers in a 4-0 shutout and topping Pittsburg State 3-1 last week. Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) earned her first career Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Offensive Player of the Week honor for her performance in the two victories. The Miners currently lead the conference in both goals and assists, with seven in each category. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Miners enter the NCAA DII Midwest Region rankings at No. 7.

In the Miners' victory over the Buccaneers, Benassi tallied two assists and scored a goal herself. Also contributing to the scoreboard for S&T were Lily Simpson (Lexington, KY/Lafayette), Jenna Marti (Sammamish, WA/Eastside Catholic), and Grace Young (Sykesville, MD/Liberty). On the defensive end, Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) led the shutout with two saves.

Against the Gorillas, S&T scored all three of its goals within a 12-minute span in the second half, by Ella Kramer (Liberty, MO/Liberty North), Benassi, and Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West). Barcom recorded a season-high six saves and did not allow any goals in the second half.

The Griffons started the season with two victories, but their most recent game ended in a 1-1 draw to Wayne State. Kaari Little leads Missouri Western in assists with two. Offensively, four different players have scored the Griffons' goals over the three games. Missouri Western's goalkeeper, Morgan Bryd, has recorded seven saves across all three matches.

Heading into Friday's match, the Miners have a 2-1 series lead over the Griffons and remain undefeated at home against Missouri Western.

About the Blue Tigers
Lincoln is set to kick off its season this Friday, September 12, against Harris-Stowe after competing in two exhibition games.
