ROLLA, MO  --  Missouri S&T has hired Troy Johnson as the department's new Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Game Operations.

Johnson joins Missouri S&T after spending the previous two years with the University of West Georgia, where he oversaw the campuses' football, cheer, softball, and baseball facility operations along with any third party event that takes place in the Coliseum. Johnson also oversees the set-up and tear-down of all these events, while handling security, parking, ticketing, and scheduling.

Johnson is no stranger to the Great Lakes Valley Conference, spending time with McKendree University in the 2022-23 season as the Graduate Assistant for Marketing and Game Operations.

"We are excited to welcome Troy to Miner Athletics as our new Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Facilities and Game Operations," said Melissa Ringhausen, Director of Athletics. "Troy has solid experience in this profession and brings a fresh perspective that will help us operate more efficiently and effectively. We're confident he will introduce new ideas that strengthen our facilities management and enhance the overall experience for our student-athletes and fans."

Johnson earned his Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Lindenwood University in 2022. Johnson later received his Master's in Sport Management from UWG in May of 2025.

When away from the office and facilities, Johnson enjoys following his favorite sports teams and collecting sports cards/bobble heads.

After making the move to the University of West Georgia, Johnson has settled down in Carrollton with his girlfriend, Sami and their cat, Simon.
