Ten Miners from Track and Field/Cross Country Earn CSC Academic All-District

ROLLA, Mo. – Ten student-athletes from Missouri S&T's cross country and track & field programs have been named to the Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators. To qualify, honorees must be student-athletes in their sophomore year or later and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, as well as rank among the top 50 in the region in at least one event.

On the men's side, Andrew Bacon (Webster Groves, MO/Webster Groves), Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest), Owen Fraser (Kirksville, MO/Kirksville), Rhet Liley (Jackson, MO/Jackson), and Sam Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) were recognized. Bacon and Born were the only two also competing in cross country, earning the distinction after placing 38th and 9th, respectively, at the Midwest Region Cross Country Championships. Fraser and Liley were honored for their performances in throws, highlighted by Fraser's nation-leading mark in the discus. Wright secured Academic All-District with a time of 53.36 in the 400-meter hurdles—seventh-best in the Midwest Region.

On the women's side, Lauryn Fenoglio (Granite City, IL/Granite City) and Maya Wright (Hillsboro, MO/Hillsboro) earned recognition for their performances in multis, while Jenna Mueller (St. Louis, MO/Oakville), Elizabeth Rothweiler (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne), and Hailey Smith (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) were honored for their success in jumps. Fenoglio and Wright finished 6th and 3rd, respectively, in the region for the heptathlon. Fenoglio appeared in the region's top 50 in four events, while Wright led the Miners All-District selections with eight top-50 marks.

In the field events, Rothweiler placed 17th in the Midwest in the pole vault, followed by Mueller at 33rd in the same event. Smith earned the honor with a school-record triple jump that ranked 11th in the region. She also placed 35th in the 400-meter hurdles and 46th in the long jump.
