Ryan Watts Steps in as Wide Receivers Coach

ROLLA, MO  --  Ryan Watts joined the Miners staff in February 2025, signing on to serve as the assistant coach for wide receivers. Prior to S&T, Watts was with the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs in 2024 as their running backs and tight ends coach. Before joining with SWOSU, Watts was with Division I FCS Morehead State in Kentucky where he served as wide receivers coach and special teams coordinator in 2023.

Watts spent six seasons as wide receivers coach and director of football operations at Missouri Western from 2017-22 while also heading the Griffon's recruiting efforts. Prior to that, he served one season as an offensive assistant at Abilene Christian. His coaching career began as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Stephen F. Austin. During the 2011-15 seasons, he also headed the filming department for the Lumberjack program.

"We're excited to welcome Ryan and his family into our Miner Football Team," said Head Coach Andy Ball, "Ryan brings great experience and is a tremendous recruiter. He's already off to a great start."

A 2014 graduate of SFA, Watts and his wife, Katie, have two children -- daughter Quinn and son Tucker.
