INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Sydney Anderson (Elkhart, IA/North Polk) earned her first career Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week award this week. She had a memorable weekend at the plate for the Miners in last week's games against #22 McKendree and Illinois Springfield, recording 8 hits and 2 homeruns in 11 at bats to help pick up two more wins for S&T.
Anderson's totals for the week included 8 hits in 11 at bats for a .727 batting average, 6 RBIs, 5 runs, 2 homeruns, 1 double, and 1 stolen base. Her biggest performance of the week came against #22 McKendree, where she went 4-for-4 at the plate, recording 4 RBIs and 2 runs along with a solo homerun to get the Miners' first run on the board in the 1st inning.
Anderson becomes the first Miner to win the award since Taylor Caton earned the honor on March 15, 2021.
