ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T Women's Basketball is back on the road this week to take on Quincy on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Series History
The Miners are 23-20 against the Hawks going back to 1985. These two teams faced each other back on Dec. 7, 2024. Quincy won that contest 85-60 at Gibson Arena.
Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) collected 18 points with five rebounds and three assists in that game, while Mariann Blass picked up 19 points.
About the Hawks
Quincy currently sits in third place in the GLVC with a 16-5 overall record and 10-2 GLVC record. Since that game against Missouri S&T, Quincy has gone 10-2 and are currently on a 10-game winning streak. In their latest 77-62 victory at Rockhurst last Saturday, Acheampomaa Danso had 20 points and Nicole McDermott recorded 18.
McDermott leads Quincy with 15 points per game and is second with seven rebounds per game. Blass is averaging 12.3 points per game, while Cymirah Williams is second in the GLVC with 9.4 rebounds per game. In the GLVC preseason poll, Quincy was picked tied for seventh.
About the Miners
Missouri S&T is 11-7 overall and .500 in the GLVC at 6-6. They went on a losing skid last week as they fell to both Lewis and Indianapolis at home. Gum averaged 11 points and 11 rebounds between both of those games.
Katelynne Roberts (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) picked up 31 total points in S&T's losses.
Gum currently leads the team with 11.6 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. Roberts has averaged 11.5 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game with a 50.9 field goal percentage. S&T's +9.1 scoring margin ranks fourth in the GLVC. Their +2.44 turnover margin and 3.67 blocks per game both rank third in the conference.
