Men's Volleyball to Face the Magicians Tomorrow

MEMPHIS, TN  --  Men's Volleyball will be in Memphis this weekend for their twelfth match of the season. They are facing the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians, who are in their inaugural season of the program.

About the Magicians
LeMoyne-Owen has only played one match so far this season, falling to NAIA opponent Talladega College on Wednesday. The Magicians fell in straight sets to the Tornadoes, 25-10, 25-11, 25-17.

Outside Hitter Daryl McClain led the Magicians in kills and assists in their first ever match, recording 9 points on 8 kills and 1 ace. He was the only member of LOC to record a positive hitting percentage in the match, as the team went -.065 against Talladega.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T is 4-7 this season, winning their most recent match in straight sets over Central State. The team has done well prolonging rallies so far this season, ranking 30th in the nation in digs per set. Bartosz Chmielewski (Aurora, IL/Metea Valley) is the team's leader in digs per set with 1.94, ranking him 33rd in the nation.

Nate Meyer (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) is leading the team in points for the third consecutive season, recording 116.0 on 104 kills, 8 aces, and 8.0 blocks. Defensively, Tyler Johnwick (Lombard, IL/Glenbard East) and Caleb Rohlwing (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) have made life difficult for opposing attackers, combining for 47 blocks, 18 of which were solos.

The Miners will be back in Gibson Arena on Wednesday to face Maryville University at 7pm.
