Men's Basketball Set for Road Game Against Northwest Missouri State Tomorrow

MARYVILLE, MO  --  The Missouri S&T men's basketball team is on the road this weekend for an away game at Nortwest Missouri State University. Game time is Saturday with a 1pm tip off.

About the Miners
The 12th-ranked Miners rolled over Division III opponent Westminster on Tuesday to improve to 6-1. The Miners are averaging 84.7 points per game through the first seven contests of the season, ranking them third in the conference behind Rockhurst and Upper Iowa. The team is also ranked 6th in Division II for defensive rebounds per game, averaging 31.0.

Blaise Beauchamp's (Minnetonka, MN/Hopkins) 4.0 turnover margin is the 9th-best in Division II as the senior guard leads the team in assists with twenty-four. Andrew Young (Ballwin, MO/Marquette) is the Miners' leading scorer, averaging 15.7 points per game and shooting 60% from the field. Cameron Stovall (St. Louis, MO/Vashon) has been a key contributor on both ends of the court, leading the team in rebounds per game at 8.0 and picking up three double-doubles this year.

About the Bearcats
Northwest Missouri State is off to a strong start with a 7-3 record this season. They are coming off a 77-70 victory over Emporia State in which Royce Williams scored 30 points. The Bearcats are coming off a rare losing season where they went 6-22, breaking an 11-season streak as the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association champions.

The Bearcats are averaging 73.3 points per game, with Williams leading the team in scoring at 14.8 points per game. Aiden Gair and Matthew Mayes are also averaging double digit points per game, recording 13.8 and 11.3. Mayes and Robby Garcia are both averaging 40% or better from the three this season, while Trey Moala's 56% from the field leads the team.

What's Next
S&T will be in Las Vegas for the Great Western Shootout on the 19th and 20th with games against Simon Fraser and Western Washington.
