BOLIVAR & SPRINGFIELD, MO -- Missouri S&T volleyball has won 6 of their last 7, sweeping in five of those wins, and are on a three game win streak. The Miners head to Southwest Baptist and Drury in their final road trip of the regular season as they look to extend their winning streak.
About the Miners
The Miners are peaking at the right time, improving to 3-6 in conference after three strong weekends in a row. They are now two games behind 8th-place Lewis with four matches remaining in the season. The team had their two best offensive matches of the season last week, hitting at .309 and .304 in straight set victories over Rockhurst and William Jewell. The team also picked up their first two Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week awards after the pair of sweeps, with
Addie Schoenberger's (Menomonee Falls, WI/Hamilton Sussex) .621 hitting percentage earning her offensive player of the week and
Kate Zipprich (Hardin, IL/Calhoun) winning defensive player of the week with 14 blocks.
Zipprich now leads the GLVC in blocks per set with 1.26, a mark that also ranks her 15th in Division II.
Avery Patton (Lathrop, MO/Truman) ranks 10th in blocks per set against GLVC opponents, averaging 1.0 per set.
Elly Decker (Manhattan, IL/Lincoln Way West) added two more service aces over last weekend to bring her season total to 31, ranking her 4th in the GLVC in aces per set.
