Women’s Basketball Travels to Emporia State for Saturday Afternoon Matchup

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball hits the road this weekend for its third game of the 2025–26 season, traveling to take on Emporia State on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 1:30 p.m. inside White Auditorium in Emporia, Kan.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T enters the weekend 1–1 after splitting its opening games at the Midwest Region Crossover. The Miners earned their first win of the season with an 81–71 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday before falling to Thomas More on Saturday.

Through two contests, S&T has been led by Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo), who is averaging 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) follows with 13.0 points per game, shooting 93% from the free-throw line through two games.

Anna Gilbertson (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) (8.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg) and newcomer Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South) (8.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg) have also made early impacts, each ranking among the team's top rebounders and scorers in the opening weekend.

Last season, Missouri S&T defeated Emporia State 85–67 in Rolla and looks to earn a second straight win over the Hornets.

About the Hornets
Emporia State enters Saturday's matchup 1–2 following an early-season win over GLVC foe Southwest Baptist, 84–61, on Tuesday night.

The Hornets are led by Kaitlyn Sanders, who is averaging 18.0 points per game while shooting 45.2% from the field. Gracie Gilpin adds 11.7 points per game and eight made three-pointers, while Makenzie McDaniel paces ESU on the boards with 7.0 rebounds per game through her first three outings.

Emporia State averages 57.0 points per game and shoots 33.7% from the field while holding opponents to 58.7 points per contest.

What's Next
Missouri S&T will return home next week to prepare for its 2025–26 home opener against Cottey at Gibson Arena.
