Women’s Basketball Opens Season at Midwest Region Crossover in Owensboro

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's basketball tips off its 2025-26 campaign this weekend at the Midwest Region Crossover, taking on Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday, Nov. 14, at 3:30 p.m., followed by a matchup with Thomas More on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at the Owensboro Sports Center in Owensboro, Ky.

About the Miners
The Miners enter the new season following a 15-12 overall record and 10-10 mark in GLVC play last year and were picked fifth in the GLVC Preseason Coaches Poll.  Returning for S&T is All-GLVC First Team selection Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville), who led the Miners with 13.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game during the 2024-25 season.

Also back is Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo), who averaged 10.6 points per game and led the team with 6.1 rebounds per contest.

Head coach Kira Carter welcomes eight newcomers to the roster, including Macy Marraccini (Broken Arrow, OK/Broken Arrow), Ava McCulla (St. Louis, MO/Parkway South), Sophia Helling (Union, MO/Union), Ava Casper (Bixby, OK/Holland Hall), Megan Aulbert (Lake St. Louis, MO/Lutheran), Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit), Allison Byars (Fayetteville, AR/Fayetteville), and Savannah Campbell (Rolla, MO/Rolla).

About the Panthers
Kentucky Wesleyan enters the 2025-26 season after finishing 15-11 overall and 11-9 in G-MAC play last year. The Panthers were selected sixth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll and return six players from last season's roster, including top scorers Myah Montgomery (10.8 PPG, 4.0 RPG) and Riley Neal (9.8 PPG, 4.9 RPG).

This season, Kentucky Wesleyan adds nine newcomers, including eight freshmen.

Missouri S&T holds a 7-2 advantage in the all-time series with the Panthers, though Kentucky Wesleyan claimed the most recent meeting in 2019.

About the Saints
Thomas More opens the year coming off an 11-18 overall record and an 8-12 mark in G-MAC play last season. The Saints were picked to finish eighth in the G-MAC Preseason Poll and return their top four leading scorers, led by seniors Rylee Turner and Sereniti Webb, who will anchor the team's veteran core.

This weekend's matchup will mark the first-ever meeting between Missouri S&T and Thomas More in program history.

What's Next
Following the Midwest Region Crossover, Missouri S&T will travel to Emporia, Kan., to take on Emporia State on Saturday, Nov. 22, at White Auditorium.
