Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's soccer wraps up its regular-season home slate this weekend with a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference matchups at Allgood-Bailey Stadium. The Miners will host Truman State on Friday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m., before celebrating Senior Day on Sunday, Oct. 26, at noon against William Jewell.
Before Sunday's home finale, the Miners will honor their five seniors, Sarah Henze (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville), Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West), Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain), Payton Oviatt (Webster Groves, MO/Nerinx Hall), and Melissa Parker (Chesterfield, MO/Marquette), for their dedication and impact on the program. The Senior Day ceremony will begin at 11:45 a.m. at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.
About the Miners
The Miners (6-6-1, 4-5-1 GLVC) return home following a strong showing on the road, earning a 3-0 win over Upper Iowa before battling Quincy on Sunday.
Against Upper Iowa, S&T struck early with first-half goals from Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) and Erisman, while Nathalie Bello (Hattiesburg, MS/Sacred Heart) added an insurance score in the second half to seal the shutout. Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) earned her fourth clean sheet of the season, supported by an efficient defensive effort that limited the Peacocks to four total shots.
The Miners came up short in a 2-0 loss at Quincy despite generating 10 shots, including three on goal from Benassi and Allie Workman (Olathe, KS/Olathe North).
S&T enters this weekend among GLVC's top seven in total goals (21) and assists (19). Benassi leads the Miners with nine goals and four assists, while Bello has contributed three goals.
About the Bulldogs
Truman State (5-4-3, 5-3-2 GLVC) goes into Friday's contest after earning a 4-2 win over Southwest Baptist and a 1-1 draw with Drury last weekend.
Against SBU, Greta Hanson, Aubrey Kaupas, Hanna Ritter, and Gretchen Rock each found the back of the net. Siman Loethen made one save in goal. Two days later, Quinn Nauman scored in the 21st minute of a 1-1 tie with Drury, with Madison Blomenkamp picking up the assist.
Nauman leads the Bulldogs with four goals and four assists on the year, while Loethen ranks among the GLVC's top goalkeepers with a 1.61 goals-against average.
About the Cardinals
William Jewell (1-8-4, 1-6-3 GLVC) enters the weekend after falling 1-3 to Rockhurst and ending in a 1-1 draw to Southwest Baptist last weekend. The Cardinals have been led offensively by Lux Sands with nine goals on the season.
Goalkeeper Jenna Skeeters has played in goal the most for the Cardinals, averaging 2.92 goals against average with a .647 save percentage.
