Wells Named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week After Record-Setting Performance

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Missouri S&T running back Evan Wells (Roxana, IL/Roxana) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Wells turned in a historic performance in Sunday's 29-10 win at McKendree, rushing for 196 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 9.3 yards per carry. He also added two receptions for nine yards, finishing with 205 all-purpose yards on the day.

The senior back etched his name in both the conference and program record books with a 99-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, marking the longest run and play from scrimmage in both GLVC and Missouri S&T history.

Wells' 196 rushing yards rank as the eighth-most in a single game in Miner history and the most by an S&T player since 2017. His explosive day helped seal the victory as Missouri S&T improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in GLVC play.
