Football Hosts Quincy for Annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day

10/21/2026 8:00:00 PM

ROLLA, Mo.  –  Missouri S&T football will be home for the second consecutive week, taking on the Quincy Hawks at 1 p.m. this Saturday for their annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day.

About the Miners
The Miners picked up their first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) win of the season on Saturday, defeating the McKendree Bearcats 28-21. Reid Meekins (Houston, TX/Cypress Falls) and Logan Jacobson (Hillsboro, MO/St. Pius X) both earned GLVC weekly honors for their performances in that contest, with Meekins earning defensive player of the week after his two-interception performance and Jacobson earning special teams player of the week after pinning the Bearcats deep on three of four punts in the one-possession contest.

Meekins now has three interceptions on the season, ranking him first in the conference and 14th in NCAA Division II. Harris continues to pace the GLVC as one of the top scorers, ranking first in rushing touchdowns with nine and ranking fourth in total touchdowns. Wes Mayo (Springfield, MO/Kickapoo) headlines a stout defensive line that ranks second in sacks this year, with Mayo recording three of the team's 13.

About Quincy
The Hawks enter Saturday's matchup with a 2-5 record and have dropped their last three games, including a 46-43 overtime loss at McKendree earlier this month. Both of Quincy's wins came back in September, when the Hawks defeated Lincoln (Mo.) 34-27 and Wayne State (Neb.) 56-35.

Quincy's defense has been a study in contrasts, ranking first in the GLVC in pass defense but last in rush defense, allowing 233.3 yards per game on the ground. Linebacker Jordan Elmore anchors the defense with 11.5 tackles per game, the third-highest average in the conference.

Quincy has found its greatest offensive success through the pass attack. Quarterback Bradyn Little averages 257.5 passing yards per game, ranking fourth in the GLVC, and has distributed the ball effectively. Three Hawks rank among the conference's top eight in receiving yards per game, led by senior wide receiver Derrick Miller at 58.8 yards per game. The Miners will look to take advantage of Quincy's struggles against the run while limiting Little's opportunities to connect with the Hawks' productive receiving corps.

What's Next
S&T will head to Liberty, Missouri for their final road game of the year as they take on the William Jewell Cardinals at 1 p.m. on October 31.
