Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T women's soccer will spend the weekend on the road in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, traveling to McKendree on Friday at 5 p.m. in Lebanon, Ill., before heading to Springfield, Ill., on Sunday, Oct. 5, for a noon matchup with Illinois Springfield.

About the Miners
The Miners (3-3-1, 1-2-1 GLVC) are coming off a 1-1 draw against No. 11 Maryville on Sunday. Aubrey Case (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) made program history, netting her first career goal just 14 seconds into the match, the fastest goal in S&T history, off an assist from Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit). Goalkeeper Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) anchored the defense with six saves against the nationally ranked Saints.

Earlier in the week, S&T outshot Missouri-St. Louis 18-13 but fell 1-0 after conceding in the 84th minute. Benassi led the attack with seven shots, while Nathalie Bello (Hattiesburg, MS/Sacred Heart) added three attempts. Barcom tallied six saves in the setback.

The Miners currently rank third in the GLVC in shots, averaging seven per game, and fifth in assists with 1.286 per game. Benassi leads the charge, ranking fifth individually in the conference with 0.429 assists per game.

About the Bearcats
McKendree (4-0-4, 4-0-1 GLVC) remains unbeaten on the year after posting back-to-back shutout victories last weekend. The Bearcats blanked Drury 2-0 on Sunday, with Maddie Mauch scoring in the 50th minute before Ella Post added insurance late. Keeper Peyton Baker starred in the net with nine saves.

Two days earlier, McKendree downed Southwest Baptist 2-0 on the road. Maggie Gleckler struck in the third minute to set the tone, while the defense held firm even after a second-half red card left the Bearcats short-handed.

McKendree ranks third in the GLVC in goals, averaging two per game. Gleckler leads the team, ranking fourth in the league with five goals on the season.

About the Prairie Stars
Illinois Springfield (1-4-3, 0-3-2 GLVC) enters the weekend looking to bounce back after a pair of road setbacks. The Prairie Stars outshot Southwest Baptist 12-3 on Sunday but fell 1-0 after conceding in the 22nd minute. Mallory Herber led the offense with four shots, while Gigi Yurevich tallied two saves.

On Friday, UIS dropped a 5-1 match at Rockhurst. Addison Wittenberg provided the lone goal off an assist from Greta Kohnz.
