Fast Start Propels Miners to 3-0 Road Win at Upper Iowa

FAYETTE, Iowa – Missouri S&T women's soccer delivered a dominant showing on Friday night, defeating Upper Iowa 3-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play at Harms-Eischeid Stadium.

The Miners (6-5-1, 4-4-1 GLVC) wasted no time taking control, scoring twice in the opening six minutes and adding a late insurance goal to secure their fourth shutout victory.

Adriana Benassi (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) got S&T on the board just 71 seconds into the match, heading home a corner kick from Grace Kohler (Roca, NE/Norris) for her ninth goal of the season. Moments later, Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) doubled the lead in the sixth minute, finishing off a combination play assisted by Ella Kramer (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) and Allie Workman (Olathe, KS/Olathe North) to make it 2-0.

The Miners continued to dictate the pace throughout, outshooting the Peacocks 13-3 and holding an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. Nathalie Bello (Hattiesburg, MS/Sacred Heart) capped off the scoring in the 72nd minute, slotting home her third goal of the year off a feed from Caryle Bennett.

In goal, Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) recorded one save to earn her fourth shutout of the season behind a defensive unit anchored by Kohler and Savannah Tully (Elkhart, IN/Elkhart) that limited Upper Iowa to just one shot on frame.
