ROLLA, Mo. – After a three-game road trip, Missouri S&T Women's Basketball is back on Thursday to face second place Lewis at 5:30 p.m.
Series History
Lewis holds a 21-4 all-time record against S&T dating back to 2006. Currently, they are on a four-game winning streak against the Miners. The last Miners win came on Feb. 26, 2022, where S&T won 72-67 in overtime. The Flyers have won 13 of the last 14 games versus the Miners.
About the Flyers
The Flyers are 15-2 this season with a 9-1 record in the GLVC. They are on a two-game winning streak with victories over Southwest Baptist and Rockhurst last weekend. In their 78-67 win over the Hawks, Taylor Gugliuzza recorded 34 points and 11 rebounds on 11-for-16 shooting. With that performance, she was named the GLVC Player of the Week on Monday.
Gugliuzza leads the team and is seventh in the GLVC in points per game at 15.4. Ally Cesarini leads Lewis with 6.2 rebounds per game. As a team, Lewis is second in the GLVC in defense allowing just 56.8 points per game. They are first in the conference in turnover margin at +3.41. Lewis was picked to finish in first place in the GLVC after they won the regular season and the GLVC tournament last season.
About the Miners
Missouri S&T is 11-5 this year with a 6-4 GLVC record. They went 2-1 last week with wins over William Jewell and McKendree. In their 79-65 victory at McKendree,
Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) led S&T with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Katelynne Roberts (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) tallied 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
In points per game, Gum is atop the team with 11.7. Roberts is averaging 11 points per game, six rebounds and 2.2 blocks.
Addyson Kent (North Vernon, IN/Jennings County) is second in the GLVC in three-point percentage at 38%.
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) ranks second in the conference in A/TO ratio at 2.4.
