LIBERTY, MO -- #15 Missouri S&T will play their first of three road games this week in Liberty, Missouri against William Jewell as a makeup from the canceled game on January 5th.
About the Cardinals
Jewell was picked to finish third in the conference in the preseason poll, but have severely under performed up to this point in the season with a GLVC-worst 2-6 record in conference play. They have lost four in a row, with the most recent coming against UIndy on Saturday in a 78-76 overtime loss.
Graduate Student Jordan Jermain is Jewell's leading scorer with 20.9 points per game, which is the second highest PPG in the GLVC. Jason Thirdkill Jr. is the team's second highest scorer at 16.2 points per game, but miss Saturday's contest against UIndy and may be out for today's game as well.
After an even start to the all-time series, the Miners have fallen behind against the Cardinals with William Jewell taking 13 of the last 16 including the last five in a row. S&T's most recent win over Jewell came in January, 2021 with a 68-66 victory.
About the Miners
S&T survived a close one against Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday, with
Andrew Young (Ballwin, MO/Marquette) laying in a last second shot to give the Miners the edge in a 88-84 victory. They have now improved to 13-1 and remain undefeated in the GLVC at 7-0. Young had two impressive performances last week, recording 43 points, a 66.7% field goal percentage, 17 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. He is now 9th in the conference in scoring with a 15.8 points per game.

Illinois Springfield and McKendree are next on the schedule for the Miners as they travel to Springfield on Thursday and Lebanon on Saturday.
