LIBERTY, Mo. – Missouri S&T Women's Basketball picked up a 63-55 win at William Jewell on Monday afternoon.
The Cardinals had their best quarter of the game in the first as the won it 24-18. At a 5-5 tie, 
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) gave S&T a lead with a three-pointer.  After that shot, the Cardinals went on an 8-0 run to take a 13-8 lead. The Miners tied it up two different times until William Jewell went on an 8-2 run to end the quarter.
 
S&T held William Jewell to six points in the second quarter as the Miners scored 10. Finley brought the deficit down to two points with 8:17 remaining in the half. With 3:13 left, 
Katelynne Roberts (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) tied up the game at 28-28. The Cardinals took a 30-28 into the locker room.
 
In the third quarter, S&T put up 21 points to only 13 for the Cardinals. Missouri S&T recorded a 10-3 run to start the second half, highlighted by 
Addyson Kent's (North Vernon, IN/Jennings County) 150
th career three-pointer made. William Jewell made it a one-point game, but the Miners responded as 
Morgan Luebbering (St. Thomas, MO/Fatima) made it a six-point game with one quarter left.
The Miners won the fourth quarter 14-12 to win the game 63-55 over the Cardinals. Jewell made it a three-point contest with 2:50 left in the game but Roberts responded right away with a layup. With 1:47 remaining, 
Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) picked up two points to make it a seven-point game. The Cardinals brought it down to 55-59 but the Miners hit free throws at the end of the game to win 63-55.
 
After recording a career-high 20 points on Saturday, Finley surpassed that with 21 points on Monday afternoon. Roberts tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, her first double-double of the year. 
Franchesca Metz (Downers Grove, IL/Nazareth Academy) picked up nine points and four rebounds, while Gum had seven points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Kent collected five points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
 
S&T shot 37.7% from the field and 25% from three-point range. In the paint, the Miners picked up 24 points. They held the Cardinals to a 33.3% field goal percentage and 16 points in the paint.
Kent recorded her 150
th career three-point shot made against William Jewell on Monday. She is currently sixth all-time in S&T history in career three-pointers made, one shy of fifth place.
 
What's Next
The Miners are back in action at Illinois Springfield on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. After their contest at McKendree on Jan. 25, they will return home to face Lewis on Jan. 30.
