ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T Women's Basketball is back on Saturday to face UMSL at 1 p.m. at Gibson Arena.
Series History
The Miners are 41-30 all-time against the Tritons dating back to 1979. UMSL is the most played opponent in S&T history with 71 games played. The Tritons won both matchups last season over the Miners. The last S&T win came on Feb. 9, 2023, where they won 75-69.
About the Tritons
UMSL is 12-3 this season with a 6-2 record in the GLVC. They hold third place in the conference with a three-game winning streak. In their latest 78-53 victory over Lincoln on Thursday, Alex Wolff had 18 points and Mara Rieder tallied 15 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the year. In road games this season, UMSL is 4-1.
Wolff leads the team with 12.3 points per game, a 52.2 field goal percentage and 15 blocks. On the glass, Morgan Ramthun is third in the GLVC with 8.9 rebounds per game. Kate Rolfes ranks second in the conference in three-point percentage at 40.8. UMSL's defense of only 50.9 points per game ranks fifth in NCAA DII. UMSL was picked to finish in seventh place this season in the GLVC.
About the Miners
S&T is 9-3 this season with a 4-2 GLVC record. After their loss to Maryville on Thursday, they moved to sixth place in the GLVC. In that game,
Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) tallied a career-high 19 points with 7-for-14 field goal shooting.
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) recorded 11 points and
Chorus Davis (Kansas City, MO/Lincoln College Prep) had 10 rebounds. At Gibson Arena this season, the Miners hold an 8-2 record.
Gum leads the team with 11.4 points per game. In GLVC games, Gum is fifth in the conference in points per game at 15.8 and fifth with a 53.7 field goal percentage. Finley is sixth in the nation in A/TO ratio at 2.67. While Rolfes ranks second in the conference in three-point percentage,
Addyson Kent (North Vernon, IN/Jennings County) is first at 42.4%.
