QUINCY, Ill. – Missouri S&T won their third straight meet on Saturday afternoon at Quincy with a score of 168-93.
The Miners started out the meet with a win in the 200-medley relay of
Aidan Walters (Olathe, KS/Olathe East),
Jordan Christensen (Coralville, IA/Iowa West),
Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium) and
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe). Their time of 1:34.85 was more than two seconds better than the next relay. In the 100-yard backstroke, Walters took home another win, clocking in at 52.45.
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) earned his first of three wins in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.64. He won the 200-yard breaststroke for the Miners at 2:09.39. His 200 IM time of 1:59.21 also won him the event.
Iden continued his four-win day in the 50-yard freestyle, where he clocked in at 21.91. He earned gold in the 100-yard butterfly with a pace of 52.00. His 400-yard freestyle relay of Wiedemeier,
Kevin Williams (Houston, TX/Westside) and Walters earned first place with a time of 3:10.78.
Wiedemeier put up a time of 48.13 to earn a victory in the 100-yard freestyle.
Fletcher Smith's (Olathe, KS/Olathe South) time of 2:04.06 in the 200-yard backstroke gave him a victory.
With the win, the Miners continued their winning streak to three meets going back to Dec. 13. They are currently ranked #24 in the December CSCAA poll that will come out with new rankings later this month.
What's Next
S&T will be back in action next week at Truman on Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. They will conclude the 2024-25 regular season at home versus Rockhurst on Jan. 24 to celebrate Senior Day. The GLVC Championship is scheduled for Feb. 11-15 in Elkhart, Ind.
