SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri S&T Men's Soccer tied with Drury 1-1 on Sunday to begin their longest road trip of the season.
The Miners were on the board quickly as
Mustafa Hasan (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh) put one in the back of the net in the sixth minute. It was Hasan's second goal in as many games and of the season. His goal came from a rebound after a missed penalty kick.
Afxentis Andreou (Paphos, Cyprus/Lykeo Agios Charalambous) kept the pressure on with a shot on goal in the 18
th minute. That was the final shot on goal of the half as S&T kept a 1-0 lead.
Drury started the second half with pressure as they recorded four shots in the first five minutes.
Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano) made two saves in that time.
Brendan Owens (St. Louis, MO/Fort Zumwalt South) was saved in the 63
rd minute in the bottom left corner.
The Panthers put one in the back of the net in the 71
st minute. Abdullah Iqbal tied up the match.
In the final three minutes, the Miners put pressure on as they tallied two shots.
Jimmy Sanchez's (St. Charles, MO/Francis Howell Central) shot was saved, and Andreou almost gave S&T the lead but was denied in the 89
th minute.
Overall, the Miners had 20 shots and eight shots on goal. Hasan and Andreou both had two shots on goal and Andreou had four total shots. Hasan, Sanchez and
Ben Frericks (Quincy, IL/Quincy Notre Dame) all had three shots.
In the net, Bruhn made eight saves on Sunday with one goal allowed. He has only allowed three goals this season and has made 13 total saves. His GAA is 0.51 through five contests.
This match was the first draw of the season as the Miners are 1-0-1 in the GLVC and 4-1-1 overall.

Missouri S&T will continue their longest road trip of the season at Maryville on Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m. and at UMSL on Sept. 29 at 2:30 p.m. They will return home on Oct. 4 to face Illinois Springfield at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be found
