ROLLA, Mo.  –  It is a new era for Miner Softball as the team welcomes Summer Anagnostopoulos as their new head coach.

"We are excited to bring Summer on board," said Melissa Ringhausen, Director of Athletics, "Summer has an impressive track record, having excelled in collegiate softball with notable achievements that underscore her ability to elevate our program. Her successful career as a student-athlete, combined with her pitching experience, positions her as a strong leader for our team. We are eager to see what lies ahead under her leadership."

Anagnostopoulos previously served as the assistant coach at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Anagnostopoulos has been with Three Rivers for the last four seasons, serving primarily as their pitching coach in that time.

Before coaching, Anagnostopoulos played as a pitcher for Three Rivers in 2017-18, earning Region XVI Player of the Year, All Region XVI, and MCCAC All-Conference honors and finishing the season with 265 strikeouts and 26 wins.

After a successful freshman season with Three Rivers, Anagnostopoulos transferred to Mizzou, where she played another two seasons before graduating. She made six appearances in her time with the Tigers, striking out 6 batters in 8.2 innings. Additionally, she was named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2020.

Anagnostopoulos' husband, Michael Anagnostopoulos, will be joining the S&T team as well and will serve as the volunteer assistant coach.

"I'm so excited to get to work and so grateful for this opportunity to be at S&T," said Anagnostopoulos, "We have a strong group of returners with a solid freshman class that will fill the holes we have. We have big goals set for this year! Keep an eye out on our social media pages for updates regarding our fall scrimmages. We have some fun things planned for this fall and spring!"
