ROLLA, Mo. – The Miners will play Thomas More at 7 p.m. on Friday night in their final match at home this season. The Miners are 9-10 this season, with the game against Thomas More being one of their remaining three.
After having their third best attacking performance (52K/14E/91TA) in their previous match, the Miners are now 28th in the country with a .269 attacking percentage. They are also in the top 40 for aces, assists, blocks, and kills.
Individually, the Miners have several players in the top 25 of various statistics. First,
Caleb Rohlwing's (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) .945 blocks per set is the 20th most in the country and he also has the second most solo blocks nationwide with 16. Second,
Grant Edmonds (Shawnee, KS/Edison) is 21st in the country for assists with 9.35 per set. And finally,
Nate Meyer's (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) 3.45 kills per set ranks him 25th.
About the Opponent:
The Thomas More Saints are 11-10 this season, having most recently lost to Lincoln Memorial University 1-3 last Friday. freshman Luke Duncan is leading the Saints in kills with 2.45 per set. Defensively, junior Caleb Lipscomb has 0.85 blocks per set, which ranks him in the top 40 in the country. The team is averaging 10.3 kills per set and 1.8 blocks per set.
