Heading into the announcement of the competitors on Wednesday, the Miners also had one guaranteed participant in
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West), who made an automatic qualifying time in the 200-yard individual medley that currently ranks as the third-best in the nation. He will be joined by five of his teammates in Geneva as the balance of the field was announced Wednesday afternoon.
Bichsel, who earned All-America honors as a freshman in the 400-yard individual medley, qualified in four events on an individual basis – both individual medley events, the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard butterfly.
