INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Six members of Missouri S&T's swimming team have earned the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships, which will take place from March 12-16 in Geneva, Ohio.

Heading into the announcement of the competitors on Wednesday, the Miners also had one guaranteed participant in Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West), who made an automatic qualifying time in the 200-yard individual medley that currently ranks as the third-best in the nation.  He will be joined by five of his teammates in Geneva as the balance of the field was announced Wednesday afternoon.

Bichsel, who earned All-America honors as a freshman in the 400-yard individual medley, qualified in four events on an individual basis – both individual medley events, the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard butterfly.  Noah Clancy (Alton, IL/Alton) qualified for the meet in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Aidan Walters (Olathe, KS/Olathe East) made it in the 100-yard backstroke and Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) qualified in the 200-yard freestyle.

S&T also qualified its 800-yard freestyle relay team of Wiedemeier, Bichsel, Kevin Williams (Houston, TX/Westside) and Walters, its 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Walters, Clancy, Nate Baxter (St. Charles, IL/St. Charles North) and Wiedemeier and 400-yard medley relay team of Walters, Clancy, Nate Baxter (St. Charles, IL/St. Charles North) and Wiedemeier.

The 800-freestyle relay team will be the first to compete on the opening night of the meet, while the 200-IM and 200-yard medley relay will take place on Wednesday, March 13.  On the third day of competition, the 400-yard individual medley, 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relay will be contested, then the 100-backstroke, 100-breaststroke and 200-butterfly will take place during the Friday sessions.

On the final day of competition, the only event involving a Miner is the 200-breaststroke with Bichsel and Clancy in that field.

Clancy will also compete in the 200-IM and 200-breaststroke, Wiedemeier in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle and Walters in the 200-freestyle and 200-backstroke.
