ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T Women's Basketball begins one of their next eight home games against Cottey on Saturday.
Series History
The Miners and Comets are 1-1 all-time dating back to 1975. In their game a season ago, S&T won 70-41 on Dec. 30, 2023.
About the Comets
Cottey is 3-2 so far this season in five non-conference matches. In their last game on Nov. 13, they took down Avila (MO) 64-54. Sarah Hunt picked up 20 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in that game. Autumn Wallace had 15 points and seven rebounds.
Hunt currently leads the team with 16.6 points per game and is second with a 45.6 field goal percentage. On the glass, Dally Coulter has 6.6 rebounds per game and Wallace is second with 6.4. Cottey was tabbed to finish fourth in the American Midwest Conference.
About the Miners
Missouri S&T is 0-1 this season after they dropped their season opener at Missouri Southern 65-76.
Morgan Luebbering (St. Thomas, MO/Fatima) set a new career-high with 15 points in just 13 minutes in Joplin.
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) recorded a career-best seven rebounds with seven points, four assists and two steals. Luebbering led the team with a 71.4 percentage from the field.
In their 70-41 win over Cottey last season,
Chorus Davis (Kansas City, MO/Lincoln College Prep) picked up a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) had 11 points and
Katelynne Roberts (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) added 10 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and a steal. This is Missouri S&T's first home game of the 2024-25 season. It is also the first of eight consecutive games at Gibson Arena for the Miners.
