ROLLA, Mo.  --  Tyler Gioia (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison) and Gideon Niboh (St. Charles, MO/Francis Howell) both had career nights in Saturday's 65-24 victory over the Bearcats, earning them the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Special Teams player of the week, respectively.

Gioia went 21-of-30 from the field for a 70% completion percentage and threw for 372 passing yards, which is a season-high for all GLVC QBs. He also tied the GLVC season-high for touchdowns scored with four and set a new career-long passing play with his 86-yard connection with Niboh. It is significant to note that the Bearcats defense lead the conference overall yards allowed and passing yards allowed per game prior to Saturday's game. Gioia earns his second POTW honor of his career, with the first coming in September of last year.

Niboh's 275 all-purpose yards are a career-high for him and the second most in the Conference this season. He not only had a career-best night, but set several school records as well, breaking the career punt return touchdown and career overall return touchdown with four and five, respectively. He also became the first Miner, and only third GLVC athlete, to score a rushing, receiving, and return touchdown in the same game. This is Niboh's third Special Teams POTW honor of his career.
