ROLLA, Mo. -- The Miners dropped last night's GLVC match against Illinois-Springfield, falling to a 1-3-1 in-conference record.
The Miners were unable to keep up with the Prairie Stars, only getting four shots off to UIS' 13 in the 2-0 loss. Illinois-Springfield's Katelynn Ward scored both goals for the visitors with one in the 35th minute and one in the 74th.
Ava Hoenes (Columbia, MO/Hickman) and
Melissa Parker (Chesterfield, MO/Marquette) were the only Miners to attempt a shot last night, with Hoenes' second shot being the only shot on goal for the Miners in the contest.
The Prairie Stars only had five shots on goal all night, leading to a trio of saves for
Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain).
