LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Missouri S&T's golf team captured two titles on Tuesday, coming from behind to win the Findlay Spring Invitational and getting the individual medalist as well in Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) as he posted a spectacular final round to win the tournament.

After recording a score of 70 in each of the first two rounds that had him tied for the lead after the second round, Miltun shot a 66 in the third round to finish three shots in front of Ferris State's Caleb Bond to win the medalist honor.  Miltun's round on Tuesday included six birdies and 12 pars as he finished with an overall score of 206, the lowest 54-hole score by a Miner since the golf program was reinstated.

S&T also had the sixth place finisher in the tournament in Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium), as he shot a 71 in the third round to finish at one-under-par for the event.  In addition, Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) finished at two-over-par for the tournament after posting a 73 in the final round.  The Miners' other two finishers were Issac To, who had a 74 in the final round to end up with a final score of 227 and Cole Komyati (Fairhope, AL/Bayside Academy), who finished at 230 after a 75 in round three.

The Miners also had the best team score in round three of a 284 to finish with a final score of 865 to finish two shots ahead of McKendree and four in front of Tusculum, the two teamst that were ahead of S&T prior to the start of play on Tuesday.  The two-day tournament included four teams that were receiving votes in the latest national rankings, including the Miners, who won a tournament for the third time this season and second time during the spring semester.

Missouri S&T will take part in the Music City Invitational next Monday and Tuesday in Nashville, Tenn.
