Miners host Judson and Thomas More in final home matches of season

ROLLA, Mo. - The Missouri S&T men's volleyball team will compete in its final two home matches of its inaugural season this weekend, starting with a match with the Eagles of Judson University Friday at 7 p.m., followed by the home finale Saturday against Thomas More at 1 p.m. at Gibson Arena.
 
The Miners (9-9) enter the weekend on a two-game winning streak after defeating Kansas Wesleyan in four sets on March 10 and Missouri Baptist five days later. Nate Meyer (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) led S&T with 20 kills and Aaron Sallade (Palatine, Ill./William Fremd) added 12 in the win over Kansas Wesleyan, while Zachary Carff (O'Fallon, Mo./St. Dominic) and Josh Duett (Grain Valley, Mo./Grain Valley) led S&T with eight kills each in the straight set win over Missouri Baptist. Defensively, Grogan Kraus (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) led the Miners with four blocks as Adam Kokal (St. Louis, MO/Parkway Central) added three as the duo combined for seven of the team's 10 total blocks in the latter match.
 
S&T is led in kills by Meyer with 226 kills, as he is averaging 4.7 points and 3.8 kills per set on 472 total attacks and 40 service aces. Sallade ranks second in those categories with 131 kills on averages of 2.9 points and 2.5 kills per set.  Defensively, S&T is led in digs by Meyer with 89 as he is averaging 1.5 digs per set, while Kraus leads the team with 38 blocks and Caleb Rohlwing (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) has added 30.
 
ABOUT JUDSON:
The Eagles (17-5) defeated Viterbo in four sets on Tuesday and will face Trinity International Thursday looking to extend their winning streak to four games. In Tuesday's win, Elijah Gregg led Judson with 15 kills – one of three Eagles to reach double figures in the match -- while Brady Solbrig led with five blocks.
 
This season, the Eagles are led offensively by Gregg with 248 kills as he is averaging 3.1 kills per set, while Brendan Gibbons is second with 161 kills while averaging two kills per set. Defensively, Gibbons leads Judson with 51 total blocks and Elijah Wrobel has added 37 blocks. 
 
ABOUT THOMAS MORE:
The Saints (11-10), who dropped a three-set decision to seventh-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) on Tuesday, will play two more matches before coming to S&T on Saturday for their final match of the regular season. 
 
Thomas More is led in kills by Ben Albers with 146 as he is averaging 2.5 points and 2.2 kills per set. The Saints have also received 109 kills from Caleb Lipscomb and 108 from Mason Collver on the season. Defensively, the Saints are led in blocks by Lipscomb with 82 while Collver has added 39 blocks. 
 
The Miners are currently 6-1 while playing in Gibson Arena this season.
