Miners continue home stretch with Missouri Baptist on Wednesday

ROLLA, Mo. - The Missouri S&T men's volleyball team continues its late season home stretch by hosting the Spartans of Missouri Baptist Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in Gibson Arena.
 
The Miners (8-9) enter this matchup with wins in five of its last six matches, the latest a 3-1 victory over Kansas Wesleyan University on Friday evening where Nate Meyer (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) led S&T with 20 kills and Aaron Sallade (Palatine, Ill./William Fremd) added 12 while Jordan Orr (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) had 42 assists. Defensively, Caleb Rohlwing (Barrington, Ill./Barrington), Grogan Kraus (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) and Sallade each recorded four blocks.  
 
This season, S&T is led in kills by Meyer with 223 kills as he is averaging 4.7 points and 3.84 kills per set. Sallade has a second-best 131 kills where he is averaging 2.9 points and 2.5 kills per set.
 
Defensively, Kraus and Caleb Rohlwing (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) have eclipsed the 30-block plateau for the season as Kraus leads the team with 34 and Rohlwing has added 30.   
 
The Spartans (3-4) will play Missouri Valley College in St. Louis Tuesday evening for the second time this season before coming to Rolla Wednesday. This season, MBU has a season sweep of two games over Clarke University and split a series with Mount Mercy University.
