ROLLA, Mo. - The S&T women's basketball team will close out its four-game homestand by hosting Missouri- St. Louis Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m in Gibson Arena.

The Miners (12-11, 8-7 GLVC) were able to move above the .500 mark both overall and GLVC play after defeating Southwest Baptist Saturday afternoon as
Alex Kerr (St. Louis, MO/St. Joseph's Academy) led S&T recorded a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds; she broke the all-time leading in rebounding record during the course of the afternoon and was named Monday as the GLVC's Player of the Week.
In the victory over SBU,
Kristen Keys (St. Louis, MO/Westminster Christian Academy) also reached double figures for S&T as she contributed 15 points.
Michaela Davis (Keokuk, Iowa/Keokuk) hauled in a career-high 10 rebounds and
Anna Finley (Owensville, MO/Owensville) led with four assists. On the defensive side,
Katelynne Roberts (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) had two blocked shots and Kerr added one, while Davis made four steals in the game. S&T held the Bearcats to 30 percent shooting from the field in the contest.Â

Individually, Kerr leads the Miners in scoring and rebounding with averages of 16 points and a GLVC-high 9.9 rebounds per game. Her scoring average ranks sixth in the GLVC heading into play this week.
Laura Rodriguez (Gran Canaria, Spain/Baloncesto Torrelodones) ranks 17th in the GLVC with a scoring average of 13.3 per game while holding the top spot in the conference in free throw shooting as she has made 88.9 percent from the charity stripe.Â

As a team, S&T ranks third with 62 blocked shots -- Kerr leads the way with 30 – and is fourth in field goal defense at 39.8 percent and in free throw shooting at 74 percent.Â

In the first matchup of the season against UMSL back on Dec. 3, Davis led S&T with her career-high 17 points and Rodriguez contributed 14 as the Miners beat the Tritons in St. Louis 58-48. Kerr was held to seven points in the game but did haul down 14 rebounds. UMSL was led in scoring by Morgan Ramthun with 16 points and Shania Liburd with 11.Â

ABOUT MISSOURI- ST. LOUIS:
The Tritons (9-12, 7-8 GLVC) enter this GLVC match coming off a 65-50 victory over Rockhurst on Saturday, as they were led by Jalysa Stokes with 17 points and Kiara Stewart with 15; Stewart also led UMSL with 16 rebounds.  Â

UMSL currently has four players averaging in double figures, led by Stokes with an average of 17 points per game that ranks second in the conference. Ramthun is averaging 11.6 per game while Amaya Blake and Stewart are averaging 10.7 and 10.3, respectively. Stewart leads the Tritons in rebounding with an average of 9.8 per game that ranks second in the GLVC just below Kerr. Â
