ROLLA, Mo. - The S&T men's volleyball team will resume action after a two-week layoff as it opens a six-game homestand Monday night against the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering at Gibson Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
The Miners (5-8) enter this matchup coming off back-to-back wins on Feb. 10 and 11, the latest a 3-2 rematch decision over Central State in St. Louis. In that decision,
Nate Meyer (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) led S&T with 19 kills as
Aaron Sallade (Palatine, Ill./William Fremd) contributed 17 while Meyer added four service aces.
Brayden Kuruzovich (State College, Penn./State College Area School District) led the Miners with 38 assists while adding three kills.
On the defensive side, Meyer led S&T with 12 digs as Kuruzovich added nine as
Grogan Kraus (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) contributed a team-high five blocks.
This season, on the offensive side of the net, Meyer leads the team with 201 points as he is averaging 4.4 points per set and 3.5 kills per set. Sallade is the only other S&T player to exceed 100 points on the season as he has tallied 131 points, averaging 2.9 points per set and 2.5 kills per set.
On the defensive side, S&T is led in blocks by Kraus with 24 and Sallade with 21 while
Caleb Rohlwing (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) has added 19.
The Raiders (3-5) enter this decision after defeating Lakeland in straight sets Saturday evening as James Zippay led MSOE with seven kills while Tommy Clausz and Alex Cretors added five kills each.
This season, on the offensive side of the net, Carter Shavitz leads the team with 108 kills as he is averaging 3.4 kills per set.
On the defensive side, Clausz leads the team in blocks with 29 as Dixon Seymour leads the Raiders with 75 digs as he is averaging 2.2 digs per set.
